Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add a location?

Click the Aerion icon in your menu bar, then click the "+" button. You can search for any city or address, or use "My Location" to track your current position.

Which data providers are available?

Aerion supports three providers: IQAir and AQI.in (both free, no API key needed) and Google Air Quality (requires a free Google Cloud API key). You can switch providers in Settings.

Do I need an API key?

Not for IQAir or AQI.in. If you choose Google Air Quality as your provider, you'll need a Google Cloud API key. You can get one for free from the Google Cloud Console by enabling the Air Quality API.

Why is the air quality data not loading?

If data isn't loading, check your internet connection. If you're using Google Air Quality, verify your API key is valid. Aerion will automatically try alternative free providers if the selected one is temporarily unavailable.

How do I enable notifications?

Go to Settings and toggle "Air Quality Alerts." You can set a custom AQI threshold. Aerion will notify you when air quality crosses your threshold for any monitored location.

Does Aerion collect my data?

No. Aerion has no analytics, telemetry, or user accounts. Your location is sent directly to the air quality provider you choose and is never stored on our servers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
